Cleaning companies

There are different types of cleaning services that you can hire if you need your home, schools, businesses or offices cleaned. With the amount of cleaning companies that are out there, it can be hard to pick which one is going to work for you. Here are a few things that you can look out for so that you can narrow down your options a little bit throughout the process.

Green Cleaning
It is very important that the cleaning services use environmentally friendly products. This is especially critical if your business or offices are open to the public and anyone sees the cleaning staff using their products. While they say any publicity is good publicity, this isn’t always true. If your company becomes known as the business that is killing the world, it’s not going to be very good for business. When you are interviewing the companies that you are considering, don’t ask them if they use green cleaning products. It’s easy to say yes. Instead, ask them for the names of some of the main products that they use and then research it yourself.

Flexible Schedules
Most cleaning services will offer a range of schedules so that the business can be cleaned during off hours. However, make sure that you find out what an emergency cleaning session would entail. If an office party takes a wild turn or an unexpected delegate arrives for a meeting and is waiting in their hotel, what would it take to have the cleaning services rush over and clean the place up as quickly and efficiently as possible? Would this even be an option? Do they have on call staff? Questions like this will help you to see how willing the company will be to work with you should you decide to hire them.

Background Checks
Make sure that the company is running background checks on their employees. The thing with a cleaning crew is that they are a third party company and while you may know the owner, it’s quite possible that you’ll never meet the actual cleaners. If they come after the store is closed and leave before it opens, you likely won’t be there. So, you’ll need to be able to trust the owner. Which means the owner needs to trust his employees and this can only be done is background checks are run and it has been determined that none of the employees has a record for stealing or other crimes.

Honest Pricing
You get what you pay for. That means that you don’t want to hire the cheapest cleaning services you find just because they have the lowest prices. However, the most expensive company doesn’t exactly mean that they clean the best either. Just make sure that the pricing that the company is using is honest. You can even asked how they determine their prices. It should be based on the size of the job and how often they will be there and how many hours it will take and if you want surface cleans or deep cleans every time. They shouldn’t be able to give you a quote until they see your business in person so don’t try to force that or you’ll get an incorrect or dishonest quote.

Extensive Expertise
While everyone likes the underdog, you might not want to hire a new start up cleaning company. You can’t chance your offices not being cleaned properly if the hire is new and doesn’t quite know how to do the job correctly yet. Instead, make sure that everyone that is going to be inside your building has several years under their belt as a cleaner. This will mean that they know what is expected of them and what it’s like to be in charge of keeping a business clean. Cleaning is one of the most important parts of running a business. If you have important clients or investors coming into your office, you need to make sure everything is clean. You really don’t want them grossed out at your bathrooms or unwilling to sit on a chair or drink out of your cups. That would set a very bad impression. Find a cleaning company that will do the job right the first time.
