Roofing for Dummies Learn the Basics
Have you always wanted to know more about roofing but didn’t know where to start? This video explains what to do before installing new residential roofing and tips on ensuring your next installation goes smoothly.
Shingles are the most common type of roofing material found on houses worldwide. They are also the most affordable option for homeowners who want to upgrade their roofs.
There are several ways to install roof shingles. If you want to save time and effort, you can hire professional contractors to do the job. The process involves inspecting for cracks, leaks, and damage. Once you have inspected the roof, remove the old roofing using a ladder to access the roof. After that, apply a self-adhering water sealer to the roof. This will protect the residential roofing from moisture. Then, install new shingles by starting at the bottom of the roof and working your way up. Finish installing the roof by taping the edges of the shingles together. Taping the shingles helps keep them in place and prevents air from being trapped between the shingles. Finally, trim the excess shingle material away from the eaves and rake it back into position.
